Privacy policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026

1. Your files never leave your device

All image and text processing on SnapTools happens locally in your web browser using JavaScript and the HTML canvas element. When you use the image compressor, resizer, watermark tool, text cleaner or image converter, your files and text are not uploaded to any server. They exist only in your browser's memory and are discarded when you close the tab.

You can confirm this yourself: load any tool, disconnect from the internet, and use it again. It continues to work because no network request is involved in the processing.

2. Information we do not collect

SnapTools has no user accounts and no login. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or payment details in order to use the tools. We do not receive, store or have access to the images or text you process.

3. Information that may be recorded automatically

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider may record standard server logs, which can include IP address, browser type, operating system, referring page and the time of a request. This information is used to diagnose technical problems and to understand aggregate traffic. It is not used to identify you personally.

4. Cookies, consent and analytics

On your first visit we show a cookie banner. Nothing advertising-related or analytics-related is loaded before you make a choice, and you can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

If you accept: we load Google Analytics 4, with IP anonymisation enabled, to understand aggregate usage such as which tools are used and how long pages take to load. Advertising partners (see section 6) may then also set cookies to measure and personalise ads.

If you reject: no analytics and no advertising scripts are loaded, and ad slots on the page stay empty. Every tool continues to work normally, because all file processing is local.

5. Local storage

We use your browser's local storage to remember small preferences: your cookie choice and a running count of files processed on your device. This data stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.

6. Cookies and advertising

SnapTools displays advertising provided by third-party advertising networks. These partners may use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to serve ads.

Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info.

Other advertising networks we may work with can likewise use cookies and similar technologies subject to their own privacy policies. We do not control those technologies and encourage you to review the relevant provider's policy.

7. Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

The California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the CPRA, gives residents of California the right to know what personal information is collected, and to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing". We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we have no actual knowledge of selling personal information of minors under 16. Our tools collect nothing about you, and advertising partners only set cookies after you press "Accept all". If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a rejection of non-essential cookies.

8. Children's privacy

SnapTools is a general-audience utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

9. Data retention

Because we do not store your files or text, there is nothing to retain or delete. Server logs, where they exist, are retained only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under data protection law — including the right to know what data is held about you, to request correction or deletion, and to object to certain processing. Since we hold no account data and no processed files, these rights will usually be satisfied by the fact that we hold nothing identifiable. If you have a specific request, get in touch.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes. The most recent version will always be published on this page, with the revision date shown above.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact page.
