Size is a percentage of each image's width, so 5% looks the same on a 600 px thumbnail and a 6000 px original.

A watermark is a deterrent, not a lock. It will not stop a determined thief with editing software, but it removes the easiest kind of theft — someone saving your photo and reposting it without attribution. It also means that wherever the image travels, your name travels with it.
That distinction matters legally. In most jurisdictions, adding a watermark does not create or transfer copyright; you already own the copyright to photos you took. What the watermark does is make ownership visible and make a claim of "I didn't know it was someone else's" much harder to sustain.
This tool adds text, which is fast, scales cleanly and never looks blurry. Logo watermarks look more branded but need a transparent PNG and careful scaling for each image size. For most creators, plain text in a consistent font is the better everyday choice.
